What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is an international assessment platform that evaluates organisations on their performance in sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The assessment examines an organisation's policies, actions and results, looking at how sustainability and responsibility are integrated into its business operations.
EcoVadis assesses companies across four key themes:
Environment
How does an organisation manage its environmental impact? This includes areas such as energy consumption, emissions, raw materials and waste management.
Labour and human rights
What measures does an organisation take to promote fair and safe working conditions and respect for human rights?
Ethics
How does an organisation ensure ethical and transparent business practices? This includes business ethics, regulatory compliance and responsible conduct.
Sustainable procurement
How does an organisation consider social and environmental factors when selecting and evaluating suppliers?
Together, these themes provide insight into how an organisation takes responsibility across its business operations and supply chain.
What does EcoVadis Platinum mean?
EcoVadis awards different medals based on the performance of the organisations it assesses.
The Platinum rating is the highest medal within the EcoVadis assessment system and is awarded to companies that rank among the top 1% of assessed organisations.
By achieving Platinum in 2025, SL BAGS received important recognition for our efforts in sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
The assessment applies to SL BAGS as an organisation. It is not a certification of individual bags or a guarantee that every product is sustainable.
That's why we believe it's important to put this recognition into perspective: as an independent assessment of our business practices and a motivation to continue improving our performance.
