SL BAGS (SL Lederwaren bv), a Dutch family business, is a professional bag manufacturer / importer since 1973. We are a professional product developer with more than 45 years of experience. Customers appreciate our product knowledge and expertise. Together with our customers, we create custom solutions that perfectly match their wishes and requirements.

1923
The beginning
The origin of VASAD is located in the year 1923 and has a rich history of much experience, craft and craftsmanship. The company was founded by three brothers Jan, Theo and Herman van der Sandt (photo three brothers) and was located in Doetinchem "the oldest and most solid address" according to Jan van der Sandt (photo parade wagon). Traditionally produced VASAD already leather bags and leather bicycle saddles in the Netherlands. These went all over the world, even in Ethiopia and Dubai you saw the VASAD-saddles with the springs, and the billboards hung all the way to the station in Jakarta.
1952

The year that the moped emerged, the turnover of saddles and accessories decreased. Arnoud van der Sandt, the son of Jan van der Sandt, joined the company and his interest was more focused on luxury leather goods and also started purchasing in Italy and East Germany, among others.
1973
Division
Arnoud decided to leave the leather goods department with several cousins in and around the company VASAD and started his company SL bv. The departments of luxury leather goods and saddles were separated. He still worked from the complex of VASAD where he rented the three front halls.
1980
In 1980 Arnoud moved with SL bv to a new building on the Mercuriusstraat.
2003
and present
The third generation Van der Sandt, son Peter, now runs SL Lederwaren bv (SL BAGS) and is located in Zutphen. In this is VASAD brought back as a label within SL Lederwaren BV The craftsmanship through which VASAD has grown, the bags have moved with the times. VASAD is now the label for modern, functional bags and is contemporary, robust and tough. Below you will now find a beautiful quality collection of unisex bags with which you want to be seen.
